  • 25 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 25 drops lavender essential oil
  • A quart-size mason jar

#5 – Rag Curls

This an old trick in our natural beauty tips list, but it still works amazingly well.  Simply set it before bed, and wake up to curly hair without using heated curlers.  All you need is some old rags, some water and a little beauty sleep.

Get some old rags, for example old t-shirts or old pillow cases, anything cotton works best.  The rags should be at around three inches wide and the length depends on your hair.  Start with damp hair – either washing and towel dried hair or use a water spray bottle.  For a longer lasting hold, you can dampen your hair with a salt water spray.  Simply mix 2 tablespoons of salt with water until it dissolves. Put the mixture in a spray bottle for a home made sea spray.

Take a rag and center it right over the ends of a small section of hair.  Start rolling the hair around the rag.  Once you reach the top of your hair, tie the ends of the rag together to secure the curl.  Keep doing this with more small sections of hair until they are all tied up.

If you want, you can wrap a headscarf over the top to make it easier to sleep in and to secure the curls.  Head off to sleep, and when you wake up in the morning, remove all the rags and gently brush you hair.
